Love, 1700 miles and 27 hours.
Happy Belated Valentines day y'all! I know that Valentines is over but it's still recent enough that most of us still can remember something good or bad about that day. For me, it was about making a special card for someone I loved more than life itself. You see, we moved all the way from NYC to Texas in October to raise my much anticipated and awaited son. In order to raise him though, we had to leave behind our first love. My adult daughter had to finish school.
Why would my adult daughter care that we didn't spend Valentines day together? We have a tradition, we always spend Valentines day together at least some part of it before all or some of us go and do our own thing. We used to joke on our anniversary that it was the day we ALL got married. So for us, Valentines Day was more than just another day, it was a day we celebrated US collectively. How do you make a card that embodies all of that? You don't. Trust me, I tried over 5 other different cards. Here they are.
I chose black. Black is something that she would've picked passing over pastel colors for something different and dramatic, much like her.
