Hi, I'm Cristina Salima Smith,
so glad you're here! I'm a former curriculum specialist, teacher-mentor, Dean, Supervising Teacher, Public School teacher turned homeschool educator and full-time Mama. I'm a Mom, wife, friend, and woman of faith. I spend most of my days in complete wonder and amazement at my 6 year old's ability to process and learn, and another part teaching Piano, Spanish, and French in my local community Co-ops. Other times, I am encouraging home educators to look for smiles as well as know-how. I believe that by pushing aside perfectionism, we can grow with our children as opposed to seeing our children grow as bystanders. As a curriculum specialist, I have experience in design and implementation of different curriculums for different learning styles. My favorite part of being a teacher is teaching other teachers how to rely on their strengths rather than on a textbook. I teach advocacy of children and the whole child rather than a list of bullet point standards created by the Publication sector.
